Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of lvlupcounseling.com. They cover the website only. If you become a client, the therapy itself is governed by the separate agreements you sign at intake.
1. Agreement
By using this site you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site. We may update these terms from time to time; the effective date above will change when we do, and continuing to use the site after that means you accept the revision.
2. What this website is
This site exists to describe LVLUP Counseling and to help you decide whether to get in touch. The information on it is general in nature and is offered for that purpose only.
Reading this site does not create a therapist–client relationship. Nor does emailing us, booking a consultation, or filling in an intake form. That relationship begins only when Kelly Kenna, LCPC and a client have agreed to work together and completed the required consent and intake paperwork.
3. This site is not for emergencies
If you are in immediate danger, or you are thinking about harming yourself, do not use this website to ask for help. Nobody monitors this site or its email address continuously, and a message may not be read for some time.
In the United States you can reach the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline by calling or texting 988, at any hour. For a medical emergency, call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room.
Nothing on this site is a substitute for assessment, diagnosis, or treatment by a qualified professional who knows your situation. Do not delay seeking care, or disregard advice you have been given, because of something you read here.
4. Not clinical advice
Descriptions of therapy approaches on this site — including EMDR — are general explanations, not recommendations for you. Whether any approach is appropriate depends on your circumstances and is a matter for direct clinical assessment. Outcomes vary from person to person, and nothing here should be read as a promise of any particular result.
5. Scheduling and services
Consultations and appointments are arranged through SimplePractice. When you schedule, pay, or exchange documents there, you are using a third-party service subject to its own terms and privacy policy in addition to these terms. We are not responsible for that platform's availability or performance.
Fees shown on this site are current as of the effective date and may change. Insurance coverage, cancellation, and payment terms are set out in the paperwork you receive at intake, and that paperwork governs if it differs from anything described here.
6. Accuracy
We try to keep this site accurate and current, but it may contain errors or become out of date, and it may be changed or taken offline at any time without notice. Nothing on it is guaranteed to be complete or error-free.
7. Intellectual property
The text, photographs, logo, and design of this site belong to LVLUP Counseling or are used with permission, and are protected by copyright and trademark law. You are welcome to view the site and to share links to it. You may not copy, republish, or reuse its content for commercial purposes without written permission.
8. Links to third-party sites
This site links to services we do not control, including SimplePractice and Google Maps. Those links are provided for convenience. We do not endorse and are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of any third-party site.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
This site is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, secure, or free of errors or harmful components.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, LVLUP Counseling and Kelly Kenna, LCPC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of, or inability to use, this website — including any loss arising from reliance on information found here.
This section limits liability relating to the website. It does not limit any liability arising from the provision of clinical services, and it does not exclude any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising from them will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Illinois, and you agree to those courts having jurisdiction.
